Please email giacomo@voltisf.org for more information. Include your resume (.pdf attachment is fine).
Qualified singers will have:
Substantial vocal training and musical education,
High level of ensemble experience,
Advanced sight-singing skills,
A desire to work with new music,
A cooperative and energetic personality,
Willingness and availability to commit to intense rehearsal schedule.
Schedule
Normally, Volti’s season consists of three concert cycles plus special events (like fundraisers, house concerts, occasional outside contract jobs, and the annual Choral Institute weekends, where some Volti singers act as faculty / section leaders for the high school choirs participating), beginning in September or October and continuing through May. A concert cycle is usually two or three performances over a single weekend (Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon); it might vary from that pattern occasionally. Rehearsals are generally held at the First Unitarian Church on Franklin Street (@ Geary) in San Francisco, over about 6 weeks preceding each concert cycle. Rehearsals are three hours long and are usually on Wednesday nights (7 – 10 PM) plus one or two Monday nights (7 – 10 PM). Dress rehearsals may be on other nights (including Fridays) depending on the availability of the venue. Singers are paid on a per service basis. Non-AGMA.
To schedule an audition contact us by emailing Giacomo DiGrigoli, Executive Director: giacomo@voltisf.org, or contact Robert Geary directly via email: bobg@voltisf.org. Please send a resume detailing your experience in the body of your email or as a .pdf attachment.
